About Event

'The Civil Engineering Association' (CEA), is a student community of the Department of the Civil Engineering, IIT Madras, which monitors and conducts the bulk of the departmental activities (curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular) throughout the academic year. CEA is a platform for the students of Civil Engineering to \\\"interact with and question\\\" the various aspects in the field of Civil Engineering. CEA continuously strives to re-kindle the thirst for knowledge, to bring a change by challenging our perception and understanding of the core of Civil Engineering in a revitalizing way. The activities of this proactive Civil Engineering Community includes 'Biweekly events', 'Lecture series', 'The Big Fight' etc. involving faculty and students, target all around development such as practical knowledge, awareness about current developments and techniques throughout the year. CEA was re-developed, re-modelled and, re-invented year after year incorporating oodles of innovation and challenge resulting in the combination of fun and knowledge, which is what CEA stands for now. The CEA fest, besides offering students, an insight into the potential of the Civil Engineering Industry, provides a launching platform for the training of budding Engineers to develop skills required by this industry. Reaching out to over hundred colleges spread all over India, CEA inspires and encourages Civil Engineering students to explore the unexplored in the field of Civil Engineering.

How to reach IIT Madras, Chennai

From Chennai Central Station: Hire an auto/taxi to IIT Madras (inside). You can catch a bus just outside the Chennai Central. 18B and 19S are the direct buses to IITM (Get down at Gandhi Mandapam/IITM). From the gate there are IITM buses to the hostels. The fare from Chennai Central will cost you approximately Rs.120 for auto and Rs. 200 for a taxi till the Main Gate. For your convenience, fix the rate before boarding the auto. From Egmore Station: Hire an auto/taxi to IIT Madras (inside). Catch 23C which heads directly to IITM. From the main gate there are IITM buses to the hostels. The auto and taxi fares from Egmore are approximately Rs.100 and Rs.150 respectively. From Airport: Hire an auto/taxi to IIT Madras (inside). Catch PP21 directly to institute or 21G to Gandhi Mandapam which is at a stone throws distance from out gate. From the main gate there are IITM buses to the hostels. From CMBT: Hire an auto/taxi to IIT Madras (inside). Or catch Bus number 23M or 5E which come directly to the institute. From the main gate there are IITM buses to the hostels.
